Nowadays, we are surrounded by fast food such as Mc Donald, Burger King and KFC. It is very fast and convenient that people can get it within several minutes. However, have you ever think about how did they treat the Chicken and the cruelty behind it?People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)[1] is an American organization in Norfolk, Virginia founded in 1880. They have created a campaign called “McCruelty”.
Each year there are over millions of chicken are being slaughtered cruelly by this method. However there are less cruel methods of slaughter such as Controlled Atmosphere Killing(CAK). [2]
With this method, oxygen is removed from the birds’ atmosphere which means they die from lack of oxygen and during this process no violence is involved.
There are still people think no matter what method they use it is still inhumane. I cannot disagree their point view; death is death, but a violent virus a less violent method I rather choose a less violent method. We are not lion or other animal. We are human and just because you feel superior do not mean you have to be cruel. What make us human are intelligence, and the capability to love and to be kind. It is up to us to stand up and make the right choice.
What’s your choice? What will you do?

A very interesting post, Martina L. I wasn't aware of the CAK method. I wonder how much it costs?
RispondiEliminaI think the treatment of animals while they are alive is just as important as how they are slaughtered, too. Definitely not an issue given enough attention, imho.
