Nuclear Possessing Countries and Nuclear Radiation

How many countries have nuclear weapons today?

“There are an estimated 20,000 warheads in the world's combined stockpile of nuclear weapons.” Which is an enormous and scary quantity, considering that only TWO atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and caused “Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki”. Roughly 60% of the people died from the explosion, 30% died from falling debris and 10% from other causes. After some months many died from radiation sickness.

Of these 20,000 5000 are considered operational and 2000 belonging to the U.S and Russia are believed to be ready for use at short notice.

Although the exact number of nuclear possession is TOP SECRET, and this data is based on estimates from scientists who used information that can be accessed by the public.

“Ready to use” or strategic weapons, it is frightening to know that there are so many killing machines that could be activated at any time. Although I believe it is fundamental that there isn’t a single country which has a lot of active warheads, at least two so that they can maintain a balanced fear in each other which fortunately is persisting.

 Nuclear Conamination 

At first:

▪   nausea

▪   vomiting

▪   headache

▪   some loss of white blood cells

Then “temporary hair loss, but also more significant internal harm, including damage to nerve cells and the cells that line the digestive tract. Severe loss of white blood cells, which are the body's main defense against infection, makes radiation victims highly vulnerable to disease.

Many people who gets contaminated by radiation, die from normal diseases and infections, because of the high loss of white cells. Without are biological defenses any small sickness can kill.

There is no cure to radiation sickness, because it is not that particular sickness that kills you, but other simpler diseases like a pneumonia.
