Global Crisis
A crisis is any event that is, or
expected to lead to, an unstable and dangerous situation affecting an
individual, group, community or whole society. Crises are deemed to be negative
changes in the security, economic, political, societal or environmental affairs,
especially when they occur, with little or no warning.
The crisis in subprime and a financial
crisis which broke out at the end of 2006 in the United States and that had
serious consequences, still evolving, on the economic world, especially in developed
countries, and for this reason it is considered by many to be the worst
economic crisis since the time of the great depression in 1929.
The subprime crisis started when
the mortgage bubble; a run-up in housing
prices fueled by demand, speculation and the belief that recent history is an
infallible forecast of the future. Housing bubbles usually start with an
increase in demand, in the face of limited supply which takes a relatively long
period of time to replenish and increase. Speculators enter the market,
believing that profits can be made through short term buying and selling. This
further drives demand. At some point, demand decreases, at the same time supply
increases, resulting in a sharp drop in prices this caused the bubble to burst.
After the mortgage
bubble problem in the 14th of September 2008 one of the world’s most
powerful banks closed because involved in this mortgage scandal the “Lehman
Brothers”; after being turned down by any support from the US state. This
bankrupt caused a dominoes effect causing many banks after “Lehman Brothers” to
fail.
The recession hit
hard nearly all the stock markets all over the world collapsed and stocks
became devalued. The world has been mired in a recession ever since.
Foreclosures have gone through the roof, and the resulting unemployment and
inflation have hit the lower and middle class people the hardest.
The Global crisis
enriched many multinationals like McDonalds because the demand for fast food
was higher because of the less money, jobs and opportunities.
Governments have to
make plans to end this crisis that is getting worst and worst and that is
affecting people the entire world.
Violent or Not?
Nowadays, we are surrounded by fast food such as Mc Donald, Burger King and KFC. It is very fast and convenient that people can get it within several minutes. However, have you ever think about how did they treat the Chicken and the cruelty behind it?People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)[1] is an American organization in Norfolk, Virginia founded in 1880. They have created a campaign called “McCruelty”.
Each year there are over millions of chicken are being slaughtered cruelly by this method. However there are less cruel methods of slaughter such as Controlled Atmosphere Killing(CAK). [2]
With this method, oxygen is removed from the birds’ atmosphere which means they die from lack of oxygen and during this process no violence is involved.
There are still people think no matter what method they use it is still inhumane. I cannot disagree their point view; death is death, but a violent virus a less violent method I rather choose a less violent method. We are not lion or other animal. We are human and just because you feel superior do not mean you have to be cruel. What make us human are intelligence, and the capability to love and to be kind. It is up to us to stand up and make the right choice.
What’s your choice? What will you do?

Nuclear Possessing Countries and Nuclear Radiation
Nuclear Possessing Countries and Nuclear Radiation
How many countries have nuclear weapons today?
“There are an estimated 20,000 warheads in
the world's combined stockpile of nuclear weapons.” Which is an enormous and
scary quantity, considering that only TWO atomic bombs were dropped on
Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and caused “Within the first two to four months of the
bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and
60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki”. Roughly 60% of the people died from the explosion,
30% died from falling debris and 10% from other causes. After some months many
died from radiation sickness.
Of these 20,000 5000 are considered
operational and 2000 belonging to the U.S and Russia are believed to be ready
for use at short notice.
Although the exact number of nuclear
possession is TOP SECRET, and this data is based on estimates from scientists
who used information that can be accessed by the public.

“Ready to use” or strategic weapons, it is
frightening to know that there are so many killing machines that could be
activated at any time. Although I believe it is fundamental that there isn’t a
single country which has a lot of active warheads, at least two so that they
can maintain a balanced fear in each other which fortunately is persisting.
Nuclear Conamination
At first:
▪ nausea
▪ vomiting
▪ headache
▪ some
loss of white blood cells
Then “temporary
hair loss, but also more significant internal harm, including damage to nerve
cells and the cells that line the digestive tract. Severe loss of white blood
cells, which are the body's main defense against infection, makes radiation
victims highly vulnerable to disease.
Many people
who gets contaminated by radiation, die from normal diseases and infections,
because of the high loss of white cells. Without are biological defenses any
small sickness can kill.
There is no
cure to radiation sickness, because it is not that particular sickness that
kills you, but other simpler diseases like a pneumonia.

Doping Usage in Sport Competitions
One
of the most interesting topics that is very discussed today is the usage of
doping substances in sport competitions. Doping is the worse type of cheating.
Unfortunately, since always, athletes prefer to cheat in contests taking these
drugs rather than winning honestly. As a matter of fact, analyzing the
statistics of the last Olympic games held in London this year, at least one
athlete in every contest was under the effect of the doping drug! Doping can be taken in every
possible sport; from boxing to running, from golf to rifle shooting, in a few
words, doping is so diffused in sports, that even today it is difficult to
recognize an athlete under the effect of doping substances, because this drug
can be hidden easily by drinking a lot of water and milk before the verifying
tests or by different techniques of dissimulation. At this point I ask myself:
What’s the point in winning a medal if it’s not earned honestly? Well, many
athletes, such as Lence Armstrong (famous biker, has admitted two weeks ago
that all the competitions that he has won were because of doping substances
hidden very well) prefer “improper” fame rather than fighting honestly with all
the human forces to gain success and therefore win a competition. This
phenomenon of doping usage has to stop, otherwise, anyone could beat a world
record, anyone with a minimum of athletic preparation could win an a gold medal
at the Olympics thanks to doping (if hidden well).

Racism...today!
Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior or superior. This is how the dictionary defines racism. RIDICULOUS... this should be the proper definition of racism.
We are in the 21st century and still today there are acts of discrimination between people. America, Europe and all over the world, fights, prejudice, discriminations, bullyism and inequality in treatment occur between us brothers.
Color skin, language, customs, religion or ethnical group are the main reason for which in 2013 wars and slavery are active.
Hate is considered the principle cause of racism. But why should we hate people of different countries, nation or race? Why should we pick on innocents because they don't have our same origins?
There is no response to this answer if not that we shouldn't.
Unfortunately, there is no "cure" for racism, except common sense. Therefore, I invite you people to think carefully of all the negative aspects of racism and of how it is useless in a society where in our difference, we are all the same
The beauty of difference is what makes us, in the world we live in, special or particular!
Europe and Human Rights
The global issues are many, but one of the most serious which I am going to introduce is over human rights.
In this history time, Europe is undergoing a serious problem for the violations of rights. Many different cultures, religions, popolations and races are present in this nation and even though the progresses after the Second World War, there are still conflicts and debates over priviliges.
Increase in racsim, rise in poverty, hunger, torture, degrading treatments, enforced labourhood, no liberty, slaves, no freedom in religion, no possibility of expression etc.: this are some of the many issues still today unrisolved. some of this problems are trying to be faced by The European Convention of Human Rights which was signed in 1951.
Together with most of the European states, the war for human rights is becoming more and more serious, but hope and persevierence might one day definitely close this chapter of captivity.
Can you as a member of our community think of an efficient solution to surclass the problem of human rights?
Will it ever stop this phenomen?

Global Warming
The planet is warming, everywhere.
Over the last 100 years the temperature already raised up more than 0.8 degree
Celsius. The temperature raised even more in sensitive Polar Regions. By global
warming we don't talk only about change in temperature over time but about the
climate that is changing drastically these changes are occurring to our
environment, atmosphere and weather. They’re happening right now; storms,
winds, rains, floods, droughts, new diseases... Signs are appearing all over,
and some of them are surprising. This statistic will never stop rising if there
is not a change in human pollution (ex. Factories, consumption of energy…) and
on earth’s releasing gases like carbon dioxide and methane. Scientists are
doing the possible to stop these pollution only that there are Nation that are
not collaborating to stop pollution, but are only increasing it. An example of
something happening right now is the high abnormal temperature that is not only
melting glaciers and sea ice; it’s also shifting precipitation patterns and
setting animals on the move, destroying the entire ecosystem.
Some impacts from increasing
temperatures are already happening.
· Ice is melting
· Sea level rise
· Animals are moving to find cooler places.
· Precipitation has increased.
Other effects could happen later
this century, if warming continues.
· Sea levels are expected to rise even more leaving many
countries under the sea level.
· Hurricanes and other storms are likely to become more
frequently and stronger.
· Floods and droughts will become more common.
· Less fresh water will be available.
· More diseases.
· Ecosystems will have a drastic change.

INDIVIDUAL ABUSE OF HUMANS BY HUMANS
INDIVIDUAL ABUSE OF HUMANS
BY HUMANS
Individual abuse of humans by humans is a phenomenon that is present in almost every
country of the world. This category includes: raping, woman abuse, killing,
bullying and many more social problems. As an example, America is the country
where bullying is most practicated. In an American highschool, 1 student over 3
is victim of a bully during the 4 years of highschool. It is a rather negative
point of discussion, becuase the situation has been degenerating over the last
10 years, as the American newspaper “The New York Times” sustains in an article
of 2011. Bullying doesn’t appear only as a physical abuse, but people can be
bullyied also verbally, using insults.
In Italy the situation is not very different, also here students are
bullyied, but the physical form of abuse is not so diffused as it is in
America. As the American newspaper “National Herald Tribune” explains, the
Emirates is the most secure country, less than 50 kills per year! But why? Because
of the strict law system, in the Emirates even if you steal, the law says: a
hand of the stealer will be chopped, the second time the person steals, the
other hand will be chopped off him, the third time, the person will be killed.
In Italy the situation is lightly different, if a stealer is
caught by the police, the person will have to attend only a couple of weeks in
jail, if the crime is serious, otherwise the person committing the crime can
solve evrything paying money for his or her freedom. I think this is a rather serious
point of discrepancy concearning the Italian law sistem, as a result, some
changes should be done…
